So far I am working with 2 different schools to produce these as a fundraiser. I made the offer to Webb Elementary in Mckinney and Guyer High School in Denton because I was going to attending their craft fairs in March. My thinking is I can produce these and give back to area schools to help raise money for their educational needs.

So far I am already taking orders for Webb and the teachers and school PTO have been very excited. I was so excited when I received orders without even having shown them the actual cap flops they would be receiving. I pride myself in a fast turn around and so far that is only been a week.

The flops turned out cute with the school colors and the bottle caps having the school mascot. Hopefully this takes off and I can give a large check to the schools at the end of April.

Where to begin

The art of making bows hasn't always come easy for me. In fact I used to spend hundreds of dollars just buying bows to match my daughter's different outfits. I realised after spending $24 for a set of bows that I had finally had enough and would figure out how to make them on my own!

It took several different attempts. Not to mention several weeks to figure out how to make the perfect bow! Not to mention I also found that I am very picky and not only did I want the colors to match but I also didn't want what I call "ugly" and "plain" bows.

I am finally to the point after having done this for right at 6 months and having friends and family asking me where I am getting my daughter's bows that I am branching out and doing craft shows and selling my bows on my very own web site (http://www.treasuredtrinketts.com/).

What makes me different from the thousands of other people making bows? Good question....All my bows are sewed together using an old fashion needle and thread. I have single to triple bows and all are kept together with thread. I found this to be the only way to keep the bow looking thin on the double and triple bows and it also makes a huge difference when your bows don't fall apart because they are held together by wire or plastic bands. In addition I heat seal all my bows. What does this mean? Basically it means I sit there with a lighter and light the ends of every single ribbon I use to make sure it won't fray after it is worn. It does take longer but the way I look at it if someone is going to spend the money on my bows I owe it to them to give them the most for the money! I know that is what I would want!!!!! Did I mention all my bows are very well priced? None of my bows are over $8.50 which in my opinion is what was always my biggest complaint. The prices that are out there for bows are crazy!

In a nut shell that is what I am up to now. I will keep you posted on how it is going. And if you should have any suggestions or feedback I would really appreciate it. All feedback is good. I am still learning and even though I am totally in love with each bow I make hearing other's comments would help me grow. Signing off for now!
